Valentina completed her Masters in Molecular Life Sciences in the group before embarking on a journey as a doctoral researcher as part of the Leibniz Competition Project “FuRTHER”. She has a strong interest in tRNA modification biology in Aspergillus fumigatus stemming from her Masters, but now she has expanded her interests to include additional gene regulatory mechanisms, including the emerging RNA:DNA:DNA triple helices as regulators of gene expression. Outside the lab, she enjoys running long distances, among other hobbies.
